The "WhatsApp Session Monitor" extension was built with absolute privacy in mind. We believe your communications are yours alone. This extension collects, transmits, and sells zero user data.

block 2. Data We DO NOT Collect

  • We do not read, log, or transmit your WhatsApp messages.
  • We do not access your contacts or phone numbers.
  • We do not track your browsing history or analytics.
  • We do not use any remote servers, external databases, or third-party trackers.

memory 3. How the Extension Works (Local Processing)

The extension requires permission to run on web.whatsapp.com solely to detect two specific HTML elements on the page (the login screen and the main chat view). This allows the extension to know when to start and stop the 6-hour timer. All of this observation happens strictly locally on your computer's RAM.

hard_drive 4. Use of Local Storage

The extension uses your browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API to save exactly three things:

  1. The timestamp of your last login (to calculate the timer).
  2. Your preference for the 10-minute warning notification.
  3. Your preference for the 1-minute warning notification.

This data never leaves your device. If you uninstall the extension, this data is instantly deleted.
